Mountclear Productions is the creative studio of Kris Crunk, a first-call producer, composer, and programmer based in Nashville, Tennessee.

With over 20 years in the industry, Kris has earned 5 Grammy nominations, 2 Dove Awards, and a 2024 Emmy Award for his original song “Great New Day”, created for WDRB in Louisville. The song is also nominated for a GEMA Award recognizing excellence in entertainment marketing.

Kris’s work spans genres and platforms—from crafting music for artists like OneRepublic, Rascal Flatts, 5 Seconds of Summer, Jordin Sparks, Donnie McClurkin, Lauren Daigle, and broadway star Stephanie J. Block, to composing original pieces for television, film, and major ad campaigns. He’s signed exclusively with Blank Slate Music Group as a songwriter and has over 2,000 original works currently in global rotation.

His music has been featured across major networks and platforms including CBS, ABC, Discovery, Disney+, Nickelodeon, BBC, Food Network, and MTV, with placements on widely recognized series such as TMZ, Holey Moley, Ghosts, NFL on CBS, Love Island, NASCAR on Prime, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, and Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.  He also composes music for major motion picture trailers through Pitch Hammer, including recent work on the Disney feature trailer for Predator: Badlands. In addition, his work was featured in a major national holiday promo for ABC, built around the trailer cue “A Deck the Halls Fantasy.” His work further includes a featured song placement in the studio feature film Greenland 2: Migration, appearing in the film’s first-act montage.

Recent work includes extensive creative collaboration with the Norwegian Cruise Line family of brands. In 2025, he contributed in various roles including orchestration, programming, co-arranging, and keyboard performance across four large-scale theatrical productions: One World, Flashback, Motor City Moves, and the flagship show for Norwegian’s newest ship, Luna—HIKO: Where Inspiration Meets Innovation.

HIKO is a large-scale immersive production blending original cinematic scoring with advanced technology, acrobatics, choreography, and dynamic lighting, representing one of the most ambitious live entertainment experiences in the fleet. In parallel, Kris has composed over 100 original pieces of music for Meta platforms, including projects supporting Facebook and Oculus technologies, with a focus on immersive, experimental, and technology-forward storytelling.

In 2025, Kris signed with StowTown Records to produce a new series of smooth jazz projects under the banner Mountclear Jazz

Kris is also deeply rooted in music education and technology. He’s a former Professor of Music Technology at Union University, a SoundFlow app developer, and a member of the Avid Beta Team for Pro Tools and Sibelius. He actively partners with leading audio plugin developers to push music production workflows forward.

Beyond the studio, Kris’s compositions for choir have earned multiple J.W. Pepper Editors' Choice Awards, with publications by Hal Leonard and Choristers Guild. He’s also the co-owner of Boompak, a resource company for elementary music educators.

At the heart of it all, Kris’s life is grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ, his over 20-year marriage to Lisa, and their children, Ethan and Emma. He is an active member of Living Word Fellowship, where music and ministry intersect in his daily life.
